Kelly Price is clearing the air about her appearance at the Cash Money vs. No Limit Verzuz during ComplexCon 2025 in Las Vegas.
After fans on social media questioned why she was on stage, the R&B singer took to a livestream to explain that she was simply there to support her longtime friend and No Limit rapper, Mia X. Around the two-minute mark of the clip, Price made it clear she was part of Mia’s support team that night.
“She held it down. She was the only female MC on that stage tonight, so we went to hold it down with Mia—and she did exactly what I knew she would do,” Price said proudly. “She tore that convention center up. Those boys couldn’t touch her. I’m so proud of her.”
Calling Mia “one of the kindest, sweetest people” she’s ever met, Price added that their friendship has lasted nearly thirty years.
Later in the livestream, she revealed that she even acted as Mia’s personal assistant during the show.
“I was her assistant tonight,” Price laughed. “I had towels and water—whatever she needed. She was up there sweating, getting hot, and I was like, ‘You need to drink more water, stay hydrated.’”
Price described the entire night as a “love fest” between two iconic Southern rap empires, noting that the event drew plenty of big names. “Anybody who was anybody was out here tonight,” she said, pointing out that LeBron James and his wife, Savannah, were among the crowd at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Still, Price hinted that the night ended with a bit of tension. “It was good, but you know, Negroes be negroing,” she quipped. “We got right to the end of the night and I was like, ‘Yeah, it’s time to go.’”
Her comment appeared to reference Birdman’s unexpected onstage outburst toward Turk, where he called him “a little bitch.”
On Sunday, Price followed up with an Instagram post offering more insight into why she and Mia X were seen together backstage.
“She jacked my phone,” Price wrote in her caption. “They didn’t want phones in that backstage area, but you’re not about to have me in a building with 30,000 people and no way to reach the outside world, so I snuck mine in—but she took it. That’s why we were together! Mia X is the #GOAT.”
