DDG Reveals He Earned More in 30 Days of Streaming Than From His Entire Record Deal

DDG revealed that he earned more money in just 30 days of streaming than he ever did from his record label deal.

“For what I signed for, I made that in 30 days on Twitch,” DDG said when asked to compare his rap contract to his streaming income, as shown around the 2:09 mark in the video below.

DDG is currently signed to Epic Records, though the details of his deal haven’t been made public. According to Chart Data, his latest album, moo, moved 4,400 units in its first week.

Elsewhere in the conversation, DDG confidently stated, “Streamers make more than rappers, a hundred percent.”

“There’s too many ways to make money,” DDG explained, highlighting the countless income streams available to streamers.

His chat with Akademiks was just part of a busy weekend for the rapper-turned-streamer. During ComplexCon, DDG also gifted a 10-year-old aspiring journalist some cash as a reward for doing well in school.

He later joined forces with PlaqueBoyMax to crown Kai Cenat as Streamer of the Year.

According to DDG, Kai does his marathon streams not for the money, but for “legacy reasons.”

“It’s like, nobody can be bigger than them right now,” he added. “I think it’s more about that.”
