During a live taping of the It Is What It Is podcast at ComplexCon 2025 in Las Vegas, Mase revealed one of his most unexpected relationship moments.
When asked about the “craziest thing” he’d ever requested from a potential partner, the rapper didn’t hold back. Sitting alongside co-hosts Cam’ron and Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson, Mase admitted, “When I first thought about getting married, I asked her to buy the ring if she was serious.”
The confession instantly drew laughter from the crowd and shock from Wilson, who exclaimed, “You asked her to buy the ring?!” Mase just laughed and shrugged it off, responding, “We’re different.”
Mase was previously married to Twyla Betha from 2001 to 2014. According to TMZ, the rapper and podcast host filed for divorce in early 2014 after being separated for about two years. Although the proceedings were briefly put on hold, the split was finalized that June. Betha was granted physical custody of their two children, while Mase was ordered to pay $6,000 per month in child and spousal support.
Known for keeping his personal life under wraps, it’s unclear if Mase is currently dating anyone.
Earlier this year, Mase and Cam’ron weighed in on reports that Travis Hunter got married to Leanna Lenee without a prenup. “Imma sit this one out,” Mase said during the discussion. “I think when it comes to the young lady, she does have like different things that have transpired. For me as a dad, if that was my son, I would definitely be concerned.”
Cam’ron made it clear he wouldn’t take that risk himself. “They’ll try to hit you with that shit, ‘Why get a prenup if you really love me?’” he said. “Do what you want, Travis, that’s up to you. I’m signing a prenup unless shorty getting as much money as I get or more than me. If you’re not getting more than me, you have to sign a prenup. It just works like that for me.”
