Chris Evans and his wife, Alba Baptista, are officially parents.
According to TMZ, Baptista gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday (Oct. 25) in Massachusetts. The couple named her Alma Grace, and she’ll carry both of her parents’ last names.
Evans and Baptista tied the knot in September 2023 during an intimate ceremony on Cape Cod, months after confirming their relationship publicly. The two first met in Europe, and as People previously reported, friends described their connection as “love at first sight.”
“They got serious very quickly,” a source told the outlet. “He kept saying he knew she was the one. He’s been ready to settle down for a while. He couldn’t wait to start a family — he was just waiting for the right girl.”
Earlier this summer, Baptista’s father, Luiz Baptista, appeared to hint at the pregnancy in a fan page comment, writing, “Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming!”
“I proposed to my wife in Portuguese,” Evans revealed to The Knot in June. “She’s Portuguese, so I learned how to say ‘will you marry me?’ in Portuguese. I had practiced it all week.”
He went on to admit, “I got really nervous when it came time to do it. I actually think I messed it up — but I still remember it.”
