Coi Leray Reacts to Cardi B Name-Dropping Her on “Pretty & Petty”: ‘I Didn’t Take It as a Diss’

Coi Leray is clearing the air after Cardi B name-dropped her on “Pretty & Petty.”

During her sit-down with the Bootleg Kev Podcast, the “Players” hitmaker was asked about the BIA diss track where Cardi spits, “They only hit you when they can’t afford Coi.”

“Yo, I love Cardi. I think Cardi is amazing,” Coi said around the 23-minute mark, calling the Bronx rapper “so authentic.”

“I respect Cardi all the time,” she added.

Bootleg Kev mentioned that the line didn’t sound like a diss, and Coi agreed.

“I don’t think it was a diss,” she explained. “I mean, I don’t got nothing to do with anything else, but as far as me, I don’t think it was a diss at all.”

Coi went on to emphasize her bond with Cardi, saying, “I fuck with Cardi. Me and Cardi, we got each other real information. Like, we speak offline, we real people before we industry.”

When asked if she ever reaches out to Cardi directly, Coi confirmed, “I hit her all the time. I’ll hit her and be like, ‘Love you.’ Or sometimes like when I’m moving to Jersey, I’m like, ‘Yo, I need a realtor. You got a realtor for me?’”

For context, Cardi B’s “Pretty & Petty” dropped last month as part of her sophomore album Am I the Drama? The track opens with the line, “Name five BIA songs, gun pointin’ to your head / Bow, I’m dead,” before throwing a series of shots—mocking BIA’s style as a “melatonin flow” and taking aim at her looks and industry status.

The lyric about BIA getting booked “when they can’t afford Coi [Leray]” quickly became one of the song’s most talked-about moments, reigniting the public feud between Cardi and BIA.

Leray had already shut down false rumors that she was upset about being mentioned on “Pretty & Petty.” A fake quote had been circulating online claiming she said, “I just hate my name being mentioned, I’m way bigger than Bia so I didn’t quite understand that comparison. She should have compared her with someone else.”

Setting the record straight, Coi took to Instagram and wrote, “I never said anything about anything. They literally made this shit up. Get a life!! Cardi whole album fire.”
