Soulja Boy Apologizes to Kandi Burruss Following Viral Outburst: ‘I Be Overreacting Sometimes’

Soulja Boy has publicly apologized to Kandi Burruss after admitting he “overreacted” during a viral rant about the singer—and he’s now set to appear on her podcast.

The rapper’s outburst came last week after Burruss interviewed former cameraman Charlie Rocket, who alleged that Soulja once spit in his food during an incident back in 2007.

Soulja fiercely denied the claim in an expletive-filled Instagram rant, threatening to sue both Charlie and Burruss.

After taking some time to cool off—and receiving an open invitation from Burruss to share his side of the story on her Speak On It podcast—Soulja returned to social media to apologize.

“They said you gon’ need to apologize to Kandi. I’m sending out an apology to Kandi, man, you know what I’m saying?” Soulja said in a new video making the rounds online. “You know I be overreacting sometimes. I just be seeing stuff on the internet … But much love to Kandi, if you could find it in your heart to accept my apology.”

He went on, “I just be getting so mad … Folks lying on me and shit, but they’re like, ‘Man, he should’ve got mad at the dude, you shouldn’t got mad at her.’”

A few days later, Soulja Boy and Kandi Burruss appeared to have made peace, smiling together in a photo from the set of her Speak On It podcast. It’s not yet known when their episode will drop.

In the earlier Speak On It episode featuring Charlie Rocket, the former videographer recalled working for Soulja in Las Vegas and claimed he hadn’t eaten in three days.

“Soulja Boy called me to his room. We’re staying at the Bellagio and he wanted to make a really viral video,” Charlie said around the 12-minute mark of the interview.

“He said, ‘Come to my room. I’m about to order some room service,’ and he ordered $1,000 worth of room service. When he was done, there was so much food left over. I was excited. I saw some chicken fingers and I was like, ‘Can I get those?’ ‘Cause I’m hungry, I’m really, really hungry.”

Charlie alleged that Soulja told him to “have whatever you want” before standing up and spitting on the food. He added that he had never been treated that way before but admitted Soulja—who was about 17 or 18 at the time—“was just a kid.”
