Floyd Roger Myers Jr., a former child actor best known for his appearance on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has passed away at 42.
His mother, Renee Trice, confirmed that Myers died of a heart attack at his Maryland home in the early hours of Wednesday, October 29.
Trice revealed that her son had suffered three heart attacks over the past three years, but his sudden death still came as an unexpected blow. “I had just spoken to him last night,” she told TMZ.
Myers made his acting debut in 1992 on NBC’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, playing a young version of Will Smith’s character in a flashback scene. The role made him an instant fan favorite and opened doors to more opportunities.
That same year, he portrayed a young Marlon Jackson in ABC’s acclaimed miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream, alongside Angela Bassett, Vanessa Williams, and Billy Dee Williams. The project remains one of the most iconic dramatizations of the Jackson family’s legacy.
After his early success, Myers’ acting career gradually slowed. His final credited appearance came in 2000 on Young Americans, a short-lived WB drama.
In later years, he dedicated himself to community work and advocacy, becoming best known for co-founding the nonprofit Fellaship Men’s Group — an organization focused on men’s mental health and support.
After news of his passing broke, the group honored him in a heartfelt Instagram post:
“RIP to our good brother @rocwonder, one of our co-founders. Gone but never will be forgotten. The mission will continue in your honor. Next men’s meeting will be one for the books like we talked about! Love you bro, rest easy — big bro will take it from here.”
