Sean “Diddy” Combs’ first prison assignment at Fort Dix reportedly involves handling inmates’ laundry.
According to TMZ, the music mogul will be earning his keep by washing and drying clothes for other prisoners. The irony isn’t lost, as federal prosecutors previously claimed Diddy relied heavily on his assistants to do “everything” for him before his incarceration.
News of Diddy’s new role comes just over a day after reports confirmed he was transferred to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to begin serving his 50-month prison sentence.
When his legal team requested the placement, they argued the facility would allow him to “address drug abuse issues” and “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”
Diddy is serving time for violating the Mann Act, with a projected release date of May 8, 2028. That estimate factors in time already served since last September, as well as federal guidelines requiring inmates to complete at least 85 percent of their sentence.
The only way Diddy could cut his time short would be through a presidential pardon—something that appears unlikely after former President Donald Trump’s recent comments.
Earlier this month, Trump revealed that Diddy had personally asked him for a pardon. “I have had a lot of people ask me for pardons,” Trump said. “I call him Puff Daddy—he has asked me for a pardon.”
Though TMZ reported that Trump was considering the request, the White House later denied any plans to commute Diddy’s sentence.
In August, Trump addressed the matter again, citing Diddy’s past attitude toward him as a factor. “I got along with him great,” Trump told Newsmax. “Seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile. … It’s hard.”
