Ice Spice Channels Sailor Moon at Harajuku Horror Night in Tokyo

Ice Spice embraced her anime side this Halloween, hitting the stage in Tokyo dressed head-to-toe as Sailor Moon for her headlining performance at Verdy’s Harajuku Horror Night.

The event, held at Spotify O-East and Azumaya in Shibuya, is one of Japan’s most iconic Halloween parties. Curated by Verdy—the creative mind behind Girls Don’t Cry and Wasted Youth—it draws Tokyo’s trendsetters and fashion rebels, all decked out in extravagant, boundary-pushing costumes that blend style, culture, and pure imagination.

This year’s edition took things up a notch with a special collaboration with Kyun Desu, one of Tokyo’s top hyperpop collectives, and featured an electrifying lineup headlined by Ice Spice.

For her set, Ice Spice honored one of Japan’s most iconic pop culture heroines, Sailor Moon—the magical alter ego of Usagi Tsukino from Naoko Takeuchi’s classic 1990s anime and manga. Known for her sailor-inspired outfit, celestial powers, and signature line, “In the name of the Moon, I’ll punish you!”, the rapper’s cosplay perfectly captured the spirit of the beloved character.

Dressed in a sparkling blue-and-white outfit accented with a red bow and knee-high boots, Ice Spice fully embodied the anime fantasy onstage—merging her signature Bronx flair with Harajuku’s vibrant energy. Verdy also joined in on the fun, showing up in costume and helping elevate the event’s electric vibe, solidifying Harajuku Horror Night as one of Tokyo’s must-attend celebrations for the creative scene.
