Hot Boy Turk is facing a $12 million lawsuit for allegedly sabotaging Cash Money’s 30th anniversary tour.
Touring agency Dope Shows, Inc. filed the suit against Turk and his company, YNT Empire, accusing the rapper of breaching his contract and deliberately undermining the tour after filing his own lawsuit over being dropped for refusing a pay cut.
The complaint also claims Turk leaked confidential financial details and falsely told others that the company couldn’t afford to pay its artists.
“Desperate to revive his flagging rap career, Turk is attempting to sabotage the Tour through childish and petulant antics that he hopes will regain the public’s attention,” attorney Jeffrey M. Movit wrote in the filing. “Turk’s publicity stunts are an abject failure, as they have done nothing to advance his career. Rather, through his malicious and misguided actions, Turk has created nothing more than massive legal liability for himself in this lawsuit.”
Dope Shows, Inc. alleges that Turk’s feud with fellow Hot Boys member B.G. created a security issue that drew concern from B.G.’s probation officer.
The company is seeking $7 million in defamation damages, $5 million for breach of contract, and reimbursement for legal fees.
Turk was cut from the tour lineup in July, just days before dropping his album Joseph. At the time, he took to Instagram claiming he was unfairly labeled a security risk simply because he refused a reduced payment.
“The same day I rejected less than what was owed, I got hit with a bogus termination notice,” he wrote. “Instead of admitting they couldn’t pay fairly, they labeled me a threat.”
Shortly after, Turk fired back with a lawsuit of his own against Dope Shows, Inc. and Artists Agency LLC, accusing them of breach of contract.
When Birdman publicly took a shot at Turk onstage, saying, “Shout out to Turk, you little bitch. You ain’t here but fuck you. We gonna fuck with you when we want to fuck with you. Cash Money ain’t never gonna die as long as I’m alive.”
Turk later clapped back on livestream, saying, “You can’t fuck with me when you want to fuck with me. Cash Money gotta understand it’s not about them. It’s about the fans.”
