Nicki Minaj Backs President Trump’s Post Highlighting Anti-Christian Attacks in Nigeria

Nicki Minaj has voiced her support for President Donald Trump after he announced that Nigeria would be placed on a watch list over reports of anti-Christian violence.

On Halloween, Trump revealed that the U.S. Department of State would designate the African nation as a “Country of Particular Concern.”

“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria,” Trump wrote on social media. “Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter. I am hereby making Nigeria a ‘COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN’.”

Minaj, who recently acknowledged Trump’s granddaughter Kait dancing to her music on TikTok, shared her reaction on X the next morning, expressing a “deep sense of gratitude” after reading the president’s statement.

“We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion,” Nicki Minaj wrote. “We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.”

She continued, “Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror, and it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice. Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”

About ten minutes later, Minaj replied to a Muslim fan, emphasizing that “faith should unite, not divide us.”

“There are ‘extremists’ in every religion,” she said. “Sending love to our Muslim Barbz. Every single one of us should be able to worship in peace.”

Meanwhile, the Nigerian government has denied President Trump’s claims. Experts have also criticized his statements as misleading, noting that Nigeria’s internal conflicts cannot be fully attributed to religion.

According to Al Jazeera, Trump’s remarks “appear to mirror language pushed by right-wing lawmakers.”
