6ix9ine Says Drake Can’t Be a Snitch: “He’s Not a Street N***a”

6ix9ine doesn’t believe Drake qualifies as a snitch.

In a recent chat with YouTuber Trap Lore Ross, the polarizing rapper joined in on ranking rappers for a “snitch tier list,” as reported by HotNewHipHop. When Drake’s name came up, Tekashi placed him in the D tier—the absolute lowest on the chart.

Drake’s inclusion stemmed from a 2009 incident in which he allegedly provided a statement to police after being robbed in Toronto.

“Now, snitching is snitching, but we talking about levels—Drake is Jewish at the end of the day, he was on Degrassi,” 6ix9ine said. “So I don’t consider him a street n***a, you know what I mean? Even though he raps about all of that shit.”

When Ross teased him, asking if Jewish gangsters don’t exist, Tekashi burst out laughing.

“There is, but he’s not one of them,” he said with a grin. “Put him at the very bottom.”

The story behind the old robbery goes like this: back in May 2009, after Drake and his date wrapped up dinner at a Toronto restaurant, they were walking back to his car when two armed men suddenly approached. The robbers took $2,000 in cash, an Audemars Piguet watch, and a diamond chain that Lil Wayne had given him.

A year later, The New York Times mentioned the incident in a profile and noted that Drake had cooperated with police during the investigation. In a 2010 GQ cover story, the For All the Dogs rapper described the ordeal as a “set-up.”

“I knew it was a setup, because I had on a sweater and a jacket … but when they banged on the car window with a gun and opened the door, the first thing he said was, ‘Yo, run that chain,'” Drake recalled. “They didn’t rob her, and her purse was sitting right there. So I was like, ‘OK, yup — you set the whole thing up.'”

The 6 God later brought up the incident on his Kendrick Lamar diss track “Family Matters,” after fans speculated that Lamar had first alluded to the 2009 robbery on “euphoria.”

“I be at New Ho King eatin’ fried rice with a dip sauce and blammy, crodie,” Kendrick rapped.

In “Family Matters,” Drake fired back, confirming the robbery: “Can’t be rapping ’bout no ratting that we can’t read/I mean it’s true, a n***a slimеd me for my AP.”

He had also previously referenced the same event on “From Florida With Love,” a track from his 2020 Dark Lane Demo Tapes project.
