GloRilla gave her dad a touching and perfectly fitting surprise.
In a video circulating online, the 26-year-old rapper is seen hosting a retirement party on Monday (Nov. 3) for her father, Edwin C. Woods Sr., celebrating the end of his nearly 30-year career with the United States Postal Service.
“We celebrating my dad—his retirement,” GloRilla said in the clip. “I’m pretty sure the post office appreciates all your hard work. You know I appreciate all your hard work. So I got a gift for you for your retirement party. You gotta come outside.”
When he stepped outside, GloRilla revealed a white Jaguar waiting for him, prompting cheers and excitement from everyone at the celebration.
The “TGIF” rapper also opened up about her close relationship with her father during a touching episode of the Tamron Hall Show last April. During the segment, Woods Sr. appeared in a recorded message expressing his deep pride for his daughter.
“I am very proud of my daughter. She has risen from humble beginnings to going to the White House,” he said. “I am extremely proud of Gloria and may she have many, many more days of success.”
Fighting back tears, GloRilla responded, “I love my dad so much. He’s one of the closest people to my heart.”
