Playboi Carti paid tribute to the late King of Pop during his recent New York stop on the Antagonist 2.0 tour.
In photos posted to his Opium Finsta, the MUSIC rapper rocked a look clearly inspired by Michael Jackson’s iconic style. The sold-out show had fans buzzing, and Carti made sure to give MJ his flowers in the caption.
“REAL HEDI MJ THRILLER MF,” he wrote, referencing the legendary 13-time Grammy winner whose passing in 2009 still resonates with fans around the world.
The tribute couldn’t have come at a better time, as Lionsgate just dropped the first teaser for Michael, the long-awaited biopic from Training Day director Antoine Fuqua. The 2026 film stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew, alongside Nia Long and Colman Domingo, among other big names. Fuqua has described Michael as “the motion picture event that explores the journey of the man who became the King of Pop.”
Meanwhile, Carti’s Antagonist 2.0 tour keeps rolling, with a stop in Newark on Friday (Nov. 7) before heading to Hartford this weekend. He’ll also be hitting cities like Philadelphia, Raleigh, Houston, Nashville, and Atlanta in the coming days.
Earlier this month, Carti dropped his Mitchell & Ness NBA League Collection, featuring teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, and Toronto Raptors.
