Rod Wave has been arrested in Atlanta on a gun-related charge.

On the same day he earned his first Grammy nomination, Rod Wave was arrested in Atlanta on a gun-related charge.

According to Fulton County jail records, the 27-year-old rapper and singer—whose real name is Rodarius Green—was booked on four counts, including possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, possession of a controlled substance, and reckless driving.

This marks the second time this year the Florida native has been jailed. Back in May, he was arrested in Fulton County on charges of aggravated assault and tampering with evidence, which his legal team denied.

A statement from the Milton Police Department revealed that officers were responding to “a possible domestic disturbance” at a local residence, which they later determined involved “a previously unreported burglary and the subsequent discharge of a firearm.” Rod later turned himself in and was released on bond, with the investigation still ongoing.

Rod Wave has faced several arrests over the years, including one in April 2023 for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon—a charge his lawyers disputed, claiming he has never been a convicted felon.

Coincidentally, the same day as his latest arrest, the rapper received his first Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media with “Sinners,” featured on the horror-action film of the same name. Also nominated in the category are “Pale, Pale Moon” by Brittany Howard and “I Lied to You” by Miles Caton, who also starred in the movie.
