Travis Scott didn’t hold back during his concert in Japan on Saturday (Nov. 8), taking a jab at Pusha T while performing at Tokorozawa’s Belluna Dome.
While performing “Champain & Vacay,” the opening track from Jackboys 2, Scott rapped, “Made a hundred off pushin’ Ts, now my phone on DND,” before adding, “Man, fuck that n***a.”
The show had another unexpected moment when Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, made a surprise appearance onstage, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
The tension between Travis Scott and Pusha T continues months after Pusha sparked their feud with the Clipse promo track “So Be It.”
On the song, Pusha took aim not only at Scott but also at Kylie Jenner, the mother of his two children, rapping:
“You cried in front of me, you died in front of me, Calabasas took your bitch and your pride in front of me / Heard Utopia had moved right up the street, and her lip gloss was poppin’, she ain’t need you to eat.”
Before dropping the track, Pusha T confirmed to GQ’s Frazier Tharpe that his issues with Travis Scott began after Scott failed to play the Utopia song “Meltdown” during a private listening session attended by Clipse and Pharrell Williams in Paris.
The track features Drake taking shots at Williams, threatening to melt the jewelry he bought at auction.
In a new conversation with Tharpe, Clipse denied fueling rap beefs for publicity.
“You can’t let the journalism be a main focus of the rollout and you tiptoe around shit,” Pusha said. “I wasn’t going to come in and give you scenarios, and be tiptoeing around the stories.
“I’ll take the criticism, it’s fine. But never call me a liar. Because I never lie. I never lie. Lemme tell you something: I think lying’s for bitches. If you lie about shit, that’s because you’re scared of something, and I’m not scared of anything or anybody. So what I say is what I say.”
