Ty Dolla Sign says he “forgives” Ye after the artist formerly known as Kanye West publicly apologized to the Jewish community.
Earlier this week, Ye appeared in an Instagram reel with Rabbi Yoshiayao Yosef Pinto, expressing regret for his past antisemitic remarks. The 24-time Grammy winner attributed his “extreme” comments partly to his bipolar disorder, calling the apology “first steps” toward rebuilding his image.
During a livestream on Friday (Nov. 7), Ty responded to a fan’s question about the apology, praising Ye for taking responsibility.
“If he apologized, man, you gotta take it serious,” Ty said. “I’m a forgiving type of motherfucker. N***as done did foul shit… After a while, it’s like, I forgive a na for talking.”
He added, “God forgives, bro, so we should all forgive. You can’t hold things over people forever. If he wants to take accountability, he took accountability—so forgive him. I forgive him.”
As ¥$, Ye and Ty have dropped two joint albums, Vultures 1 and Vultures 2, both arriving last year. The Yeezy mogul now seems to be preparing for the long-awaited release of Bully on streaming platforms after making a surprise appearance with Travis Scott in Japan on Saturday (Nov. 8).
