Sean “Diddy” Combs has pushed back against TMZ’s report claiming he was caught drinking alcohol at Fort Dix.
A statement posted to the music mogul’s official X account called the story completely untrue.
“The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false,” the statement read. “His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”
TMZ reported on Nov. 7 that Sean “Diddy” Combs was allegedly caught with homemade alcohol made from Fanta, sugar, and apples. According to the outlet, officials initially planned to move him to another unit following the discovery, but that decision was later reversed.
After the report surfaced, Diddy’s family spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, responded to TMZ with a statement.
“Mr. Combs is in his first week at FCI Fort Dix and is focused on adjusting, working on himself, and doing better each day,” Engelmayer said. “As with any high-profile individual in a new environment, there will be many rumors and exaggerated stories throughout his time there—most of them untrue. We ask that people give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth with grace and purpose.”
The alcohol allegation follows Diddy’s statement to a judge during sentencing that he was sober for the first time in 25 years. His attorneys had specifically requested that he serve his sentence at Fort Dix “in order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”
Meanwhile, Diddy has reportedly started his first prison job — handling laundry for other inmates. According to TMZ, the music mogul will earn his keep behind bars by taking care of fellow prisoners’ clothing.
