Summer Walker is just hours away from dropping her highly anticipated third studio album, Finally Over It. And in true Summer fashion, she’s fully leaning into the moment.
On Thursday, November 13, the “Heart of a Woman” singer stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show — and made sure to honor the show’s iconic pre-show tradition: the walk through the spirit tunnel. Only this time, she looked more like a bride than a guest.
As she glided through the viral tunnel, Walker rocked a flowing white wedding gown, turning the hallway into her own makeshift aisle. The crew even serenaded her, singing “Summer Walker’s at J. Hud, walking down the tunnel, walking down the tunnel” to the melody of her hit “Heart of a Woman.”
Marriage seems to be a major theme in the Finally Over It rollout. While singles like “Heart of a Woman” and “Spend It” dropped months ago, Walker kicked off the official album era back in September when she showed up to the MTV VMAs accompanied by an elderly man — who appeared to be her sugar daddy. That same man is featured on the Finally Over It cover art, recreating the iconic photo of Anna Nicole Smith and J. Howard Marshall from their infamous 1994 wedding.
Throughout the promo run, Walker has been finding creative ways to engage fans. Last weekend, she pulled up to Atlanta colleges in a dump truck, encouraging students to toss out their exes’ belongings. She also launched a themed pop-up escape room, with each room inspired by the albums in her Over It trilogy — 2019’s Over It, 2021’s Still Over It, and the soon-to-arrive Finally Over It.
Thursday’s walk through Jennifer Hudson’s spirit tunnel served as one last fun moment with fans before the album hits streaming. At the end of her bridal-style stroll, Walker even tossed a bouquet, which a lucky crew member caught.
Finally Over It drops Friday, featuring collaborations with Anderson .Paak, GloRilla, Bryson Tiller, Mariah the Scientist, and more.
