Ice-T seems to be having some fun with artificial intelligence — and maybe even using it for a little positivity.
On Thursday, the rapper and actor hopped on X to post an AI-generated picture featuring himself, Ice Cube, Ice Spice, and Vanilla Ice gliding around an ice-skating rink.
“Ok… Ai got us…. The ICE’s,” he wrote, poking fun at the one thing all four artists have in common: Ice in their names.
Fans jumped into the comments right away. Some noted that the AI version of Ice Spice looked nothing like her, while others unfortunately took the image and turned it into Immigration and Customs Enforcement–themed edits.
While Ice-T, Ice Spice, and Vanilla Ice haven’t really weighed in on AI, Ice Cube has made his feelings loud and clear. The West Coast icon has repeatedly slammed AI-generated music and warned that he’ll take legal action against anyone who uses AI to mimic his voice.
“I don’t wanna hear an AI Drake song,” he said on the Full Send podcast. “Yeah, I don’t wanna hear that bullshit. He should sue whoever made it.”
Cube went on to say he’d react the same way if someone used his own voice or persona in AI-created music. “I’mma sue the muthafucka who made it and the people and the platform who play it. It’s like a sample… Somebody can’t take your original voice and manipulate it without having to pay. I think A.I. is demonic, [and] I think A.I. is going to get a backlash from organic people.”
