Just days after hinting that their feud was finally behind them, Max B reignited things by performing a Jim Jones diss track.
On Nov. 28, Max B hit the stage at the release party for Stove God Cooks’ Goat Stamp in New York City, where he performed “We Sip Grand Cru.” Packed with direct shots at Jones — especially the line “Jimmy mad that Chrissy touched it in Miami” — the message was loud and clear, and there was no confusion about who the track was aimed at or what situation it referenced.
Max B’s decision to perform the track marks a sharp turn from the tone he set before getting out of prison earlier this month. Back in June, he publicly ended his longtime feud with Jones during an interview on Drink Champs.
He explained that prison shifted his mindset and softened his feelings toward their long-running issues.
“Listen, Jim said a bunch of hard shit about me. So, we all say hard shit about each other, okay?” Max said. “Jim done wished me dead, all type of shit. It’s all good. Listen, man. It’s love, man. I want to start over. I’m a new man. I’m a married man. I got four kids.”
“I’m on a whole different time right now, my n***a. I’m out here to get my money and ride out the sunset with this shit,” he added. “It’s in there for me, though. I’m going tell you that. So that’s the goal.”
Just last month, Jones addressed the idea of reconciling with Max on an episode of his podcast, Let’s Rap About It. Jones admitted he’s still petty and hasn’t fully moved past their history.
“I may forgive, I don’t forget,” Jones said. “And even if I forgive, I’m not here to make anybody feel comfortable.”
Even so, Jones made it clear he’s not interested in rehashing their feud.
“I don’t give a fuck about what nobody do,” he said. “I’m not actively pursuing nothing but this money.”
