Broadway and Hallmark actor Corey Cott is turning heads in the new movie The Snow Must Go On.
He stars as Isaiah in the upstate New York romance — and yes, he is married in real life. Cott has been married to his wife, Meghan Woollard, since 2012, and the couple shares three children.
Cott explained that he met Meghan at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama.
“I was 22, she was 24,” he said during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark.
“I loved drama school,” Cott added. “…Carnegie Mellon particularly is a storied program with a wonderful 100 years of alumni… all these legends.” Actors like Ted Danson and Holly Hunter also attended the school.
He shared that he “met his wife in Pittsburgh while I was in school, yes. Funny enough, we got engaged when I was in school… I knew.”
To make the moment memorable, Cott “decided it would be a great way to get engaged by singing a song to her on our last day of school at drama school.”
He performed a Josh Groban song in front of his parents, classmates, and the entire audience. Cott explained that on the final day of drama school, “we all sing for each other” in front of hundreds of people. He chose that moment to “propose to her in front of all of them, and thankfully she said yes.”
He added that they now have “three boys.”
According to his Hallmark bio, Corey Cott “has spent much of the last decade building a versatile career as an actor and singer on stage and screen.” Right after graduating from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, he made his Broadway debut starring as Jack Kelly for two years in Disney’s Newsies. That was followed by playing Gaston Lachaille opposite Vanessa Hudgens and Victoria Clark in the Broadway revival of Gigi.
He later earned “critical acclaim for his performance as Donny Novitski in the Tony Award-winning musical Bandstand, which was filmed live and can be streamed on demand,” the bio continues.
Cott also occasionally shares moments with his wife and kids on Instagram.
He’s also appeared in a variety of well-known TV shows, including the FOX series Filthy Rich and Hallmark’s Butlers in Love, as well as The Equalizer, Law & Order, Chicago Med, and Amazon Prime’s Z: The Beginning of Everything.
Cott hails from Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
