ASAP Rocky Officially Becomes a Chanel Ambassador

A$AP Rocky has officially joined Chanel as its newest ambassador.

The fashion house announced the move on Saturday (Nov. 29), praising Rocky’s “talent, curiosity, and limitless creativity” as the reason he’s a perfect match for the brand.

“Rocky is an incredible artist who puts his heart and soul into every project he’s involved in, in addition to being an incredible human being,” said Chanel artistic director Matthieu Blazy. “Musician, actor, father, friend… he brings so much to the table and always delivers with kindness. We are thrilled to welcome him to Chanel and I’m thrilled to work together again.”

Rocky released his own statement highlighting Blazy’s influence on the partnership.

“Matthieu’s imagination is pushing fashion forward. His designs feel both sensitive and strong, they’re grounded in reality but at the same time, always invite one to wonder,” Rocky said. “I’m so excited to see him at Chanel.”

The news comes just a month after Rocky shot a short film for Chanel in New York City alongside actress Margaret Qualley. The full video — which includes a scene of him giving Qualley a ring — drops Dec. 2 on Chanel’s website.

Outside of the Chanel collaboration, Rocky appears to be gearing up for his long-awaited album Don’t Be Dumb.

During his Camp Flog Gnaw performance earlier this month, he wore a hoodie with “Jan. 16” printed on one sleeve. While some fans think that’s the album’s release date, others believe he’s trolling since Jan. 16 is National Nothing Day.

That speculation fits perfectly with Rocky’s running joke — he recently told The People Gallery that Don’t Be Dumb is “never dropping,” laughing as he teased how fans would react.

“They gon’ kill for that one,” he joked.
