Britney Spears Shares a Thanksgiving Message and Drops a Cryptic Reference to Darkness

Britney Spears gave fans a post-Thanksgiving update that doubled as a cryptic, emotional message about where she is internally right now.

On Nov. 29, the pop icon shared a new dancing video on Instagram. Dressed in a leopard print bodysuit and black heels, she moved to Adele’s “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” in her classic, free-spirited style.

In the caption — which has since been edited but was originally captured by TMZ — Spears opened up in a long, reflective message about her current headspace.

“Reflecting is good for the soul,” she wrote. “Sometimes when hard things happen, good things come from it and we learn. I learned that a real note of expression with emotion speaks volumes for us all!! Call it childish, silly, annoying… We grow up to become women but do you dare keep the most sensitive part of the soul and allow it to rebel.”

She continued, “The child within must speak in the most vulnerable of times. Sadness and darkness survive to make an understanding of losing someone and of the hurt and pain. Sometimes, through suffering and ugliness and sacrifice, extremely rare and beautiful things can be manifested and shared that can touch another person so they understand they are not alone…and yet the woman in me will make sure I find my destination.”

Spears wrapped her message on a lighter note, shifting to Thanksgiving food.

“I can’t even look at food after this Thanksgiving,” she joked. “I cheated I was so bad…but it felt so damn good.. forgive me father.”

Her post comes just weeks after she reactivated her Instagram following the release of You Thought You Knew, a memoir by ex-husband Kevin Federline, in which he accused her of cheating and using drugs after childbirth.

Spears had previously deactivated her account in October after saying she had “brain damage.”
