Tia Mowry is opening up about an awkward encounter with Lenny Kravitz that she’s still not quite over.
During a sit-down with Jennifer Hudson on her talk show, the actress shared what she’s been up to lately. As photos flashed across the screen, Mowry talked about taking her kids to the Caribbean Islands so they could experience the place she spent time growing up.
After mentioning she introduced them to some of the foods she loved as a child—like catfish and plantains—Mowry revealed a surprise run-in with Kravitz that didn’t go the way she imagined. “I met Lenny Kravitz there, and let me tell you, he is fine,” she said, emphasizing just how fine she thought he was.
But when she went over to speak to him, things fell apart fast. She explained she meant to tell him, “I’m also from Eleuthera,” but the words just wouldn’t come out clearly.
“He was like ‘Aww, you’re so sweet’ and that was it,” she admitted with a shy laugh. Even though the moment was embarrassing, she hinted she wouldn’t mind a do-over. “Hey Lenny,” she said with a playful smirk.

Elsewhere in the episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, Mowry revealed why she refuses to fly with her 14-year-old son, who’s currently taking flight lessons. “He wanted me to go with him, but I was like, ‘Hell no,’” she said.
“So I FaceTimed. There we are all together,” she continued. “Yep, my dad and my mom. He’s obsessed, and he loves it.”
