GloRilla has revealed she was joking when she announced she had an R&B album on the way last month.
Glo admitted she was “lying” about plans for an R&B project, explaining that she was trolling people who were “trying to talk shit” when she teased some of the R&B artists appearing on her upcoming sophomore album.
Earlier this year, GloRilla spoke about her much-anticipated follow-up to 2024’s Glorious on Spaces, telling fans to expect “something different” as she enters a new phase of her career.
“I will be stepping out of that era,” she said. “[I’m] stepping into a new era. I can’t tell y’all when it’s gonna be. But I’m excited for it and I hope y’all like it […] I’m in the studio. I’m always working.”
Those comments—combined with her previous R&B-leaning collaborations, like “Xmas Time” with Kehlani and “I Luv Her” with T-Pain—had fans convinced she might be gearing up for an R&B-inspired project.
Even though an official R&B album isn’t happening right now, the idea doesn’t feel far-fetched after her spontaneous renditions of “Amazing Grace” and the “Star-Spangled Banner” on Sundae Conversations in 2024.
