For DJ Khaled’s 50th birthday, Jay-Z and Roc Nation went all out with a standout gift for the hitmaker.
In a series of Instagram posts, Khaled showed off his gratitude for the 1991 BMW M3 he got from Hov and the label. He shared photos of the same model he drove in his younger days, along with shots of himself sitting in the spotless new ride — complete with a custom vanity plate.
“I had an M3, hustling,” Khaled said as he held up an old photo of himself posing with the same model at age 15. “We used to throw parties, rent out halls. We charged $5 at the door, and the flyers were graffiti. … I bought an M3, and this M3, I put a system in it. I was like 15, 16, and I put a system in it, and the whole car caught on fire.”
Then came the big surprise — the car returned to him, just without the sound system. “Nah, this legendary,” Khaled said, beaming as he admired the flawless ride. “Y’all went crazy with that. You know how classic this is? … Yo Hov, stop, y’all gonna make me cry. … I used to sell alligator shoes out the trunk! This that real deal. … Lenny S and Jay-Z got me an M3.”
The clips dropped shortly after Khaled celebrated turning 50, and after he went viral calling himself the “Ice Cream Man” while showing off his fully stocked freezer of frozen treats. Clearly, Khaled is living his best life as he steps into his sixth decade.
