Alabama Barker isn’t acting like she’s in a rush to leave home — and she’s not sugarcoating her reason either.
During a recent TikTok Live, the 19-year-old responded to constant questions about why she still lives with her dad, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, even though she owns a pretty large home in Los Angeles.
According to Buzzfeed, the topic came up casually while Alabama was getting ready on camera.
She shared that she bought a five-bedroom house last year but barely stays in it. Her choice to remain at home isn’t about money or convenience — it’s simply what she prefers. She said she hates being away from her dad and is happy choosing family over independence.
“I don’t like going there. I hate being away from my dad,” she said, adding that she tried living in the house right after buying it but didn’t last long.
She stayed there for about three weeks before realizing it just didn’t feel right. “I got so homesick,” she said, calling the experience something she never wants to repeat.
While she doesn’t live there full-time, the property is far from unused. Alabama said it’s fully furnished, regularly maintained, and professionally cleaned. She mainly goes there on weekends and uses it to host friends, but it’s not her preferred daily home.
She also addressed the criticism she gets online for living with her dad while benefiting from his success. Instead of arguing, she owned it. When viewers brought up “daddy’s money,” she didn’t push back.
“That’s why when people are like, ‘Daddy’s money,’ I let them talk,” she said. “Because you’re right.”
Alabama purchased the house from her mother, former model Shanna Moakler, after Moakler moved to Texas. Still, she made it clear she feels no pressure to move out just to prove something.
Travis Barker’s home is currently a bustling blended household with his wife Kourtney Kardashian, their 2-year-old son Rocky, Kardashian’s three kids with Scott Disick, and Alabama’s brother Landon.
Even with the chaos, Alabama says staying close to her dad is non-negotiable. “If I can live with him for the rest of my life, I will,” she said.
