Kim Kardashian has some fun company lined up for her upcoming Netflix Original comedy, The Fifth Wheel.
Directed by Eva Longoria, the film will feature Kardashian starring alongside Nikki Glaser, Brenda Song, and Fortune Feimster, according to Deadline’s report on Wednesday, December 9.
As the outlet shares, The Fifth Wheel “follows a group of best friends from high school who attempt to reconnect during a weekend jaunt to Vegas. When a hot outsider (Kardashian) crashes the weekend, they’re forced to face their messy lives, bad decisions and unraveling friendships.”
The film comes from a script by Paula Pell — known for her work on Saturday Night Live and her role on Girls5Eva — along with her wife, comedian and writer Janine Brito. Kardashian and Pell will also serve as producers, joined by Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, and Alex Brown under the Gloria Sanchez banner, as well as Cris Abrego and Eva Longoria’s Hyphenate Media Group.
Kim has been popping up on screens a lot in recent years, especially in Ryan Murphy projects like American Horror Story: Delicate and All’s Fair. Her AHS role stirred plenty of buzz when it premiered in 2023, though her performance in All’s Fair didn’t land well with critics. Still, despite the backlash, All’s Fair has been renewed for a second season.
Brenda Song, who first broke out as a Disney star, has also had a standout year with roles in Running Point alongside Kate Hudson and The Last Showgirl with Pamela Anderson.
Netflix first nabbed The Fifth Wheel back in 2023 after a fierce bidding war. Deadline noted that the script was considered “one of the funnier in some time by a number of buyers who were involved in the auction.” With the comedic track records of Pell, Feimster, and Glaser, that kind of praise comes as no surprise.
The Fifth Wheel is set to hit Netflix on a date that’s still under wraps.
