DDG Cuts Ties with Cameraman Ed Live on Stream for Showing Up Late: ‘At the End of the Day, It’s a Job’

DDG has officially cut ties with his cameraman Ed — and the whole thing played out live in front of thousands of viewers.

What began as a chill stream took a turn when the rapper announced he was letting Ed go, saying repeated lateness and behind-the-scenes confusion had finally reached a breaking point. DDG explained that Ed was already streaming when he called and told him to show up by 5:30 p.m. Instead, Ed pulled up at 5:47 — a delay DDG said happens way too often.

“I fired Ed. I told him be here at 5:30… it’s 5:47. He just got here,” he told the stream. “He’s been late too many times.”

But it wasn’t just the tardiness. DDG said Ed’s livestreams were starting to affect him personally. Some of Ed’s comments on-stream were throwing DDG off, and a few things he watched Ed do had him genuinely confused.

“His work ethic slowing down,” DDG added, noting that he’s trying to lock in, elevate his content, and position himself to win Streamer of the Year in 2026. He then recapped the ups and downs of their on-and-off working relationship.

The two had worked together in the past before they “got into it,” which led to DDG firing him the first time. After that, DDG brought on another cameraman, Johnny. When things eventually ended with Johnny, DDG randomly ran into Ed at a Best Buy and decided to give him another try. But this second chance didn’t stick either. DDG said he made it clear that punctuality was crucial, especially for IRL content where timing is everything.

“If you’re not here, you slowing me down,” DDG explained. “At the end of the day, it’s a job.”

When DDG officially let him go, Ed asked for yet another chance, but DDG said he’d already given plenty. Ed then walked out of the room and yelled, “Fuck.”

Right after firing Ed, DDG called Johnny to see if he could step back in. Johnny said he could be there within 30 minutes, and DDG told viewers that a new team setup would be coming “real soon.”
