Just days before his Netflix-produced Diddy docuseries hit the platform, 50 Cent quietly settled a pending lawsuit.
According to documents obtained and reviewed by Complex, a man named Guadalupe de los Santos had filed a civil complaint accusing the rapper of assaulting him in Los Angeles. He alleges that last September, while he was stopped at a traffic light, Fif’s SUV rolled up beside him — and the passenger door “suddenly and forcefully opened, without warning or provocation, and struck [him] on his left side, knocking him and his scooter to the street.”
Guadalupe was seeking damages for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence.
Fif initially filed a motion to have the case dismissed and was scheduled for a Dec. 22 hearing, but both sides ended up settling about a month earlier.
On Nov. 25, a motion was filed stating that the plaintiff and defendant had “reached an agreement in principle to resolve all claims” and were “in the process of drafting and executing the formal settlement agreement.”
Meanwhile, in other Fif updates, the rapper recently weighed in on the link between snitch culture and hip-hop during an interview with Gold Derby. “It’s a part of hip-hop culture,” Fif said while discussing how Diddy went unchallenged for years. “They think they’re telling, or something.”
