Fat Joe wants men his age to stop trying so hard to dress like the younger crowd.
The 55-year-old Bronx rapper appeared on the Wednesday (December 10) episode of Ghetto Runways with his daughter, Azariah Cartagena (aka Azzy), where he opened up about the style trends that turn him off.
One trend Joey Crack says is completely “played out” is when older men think they’re dressing fly but end up looking old-fashioned.
“It’s horrible to see somebody who I once thought was really fly played out. Clothes ain’t supposed to age,” Joe said around the 58-minute mark. “So, as long as you fly, you know what fly is. You got a couple of dollars, you could pull it off.”
“Some guys, they look dated to me all the time,” he added.
The Terror Squad frontman went on to clarify that while he doesn’t dress his age, he’s definitely not “into the teenybopper” look.
“I’m not into a guy, 50 years old, dressing like he’s a nerd, like he’s 12 years old,” Joe said. “That’s kind of like mental illness to me or something. No, I want to be fly. I want to be forever young.”
He also pointed to his hair coloring product, Rewind It 10, saying it’s for men who want to stay youthful without looking ridiculous. “I’m all about being young, fly, whatever. But don’t come here with the t-shirt of the kid in the fucking suburban high school and you a 50-year-old dude. I’m not jacking that shit,” he said.
The rapper delivered similar critiques back in October while on The Best Sneakers of 2025 panel at ComplexCon, calling out people who dress “weird.”
“If you dress weird and you think you’re fly because you dress weird, you’re not fly. You just got a bunch of shit on. If I walk in ComplexCon and a n***a walking with a parachute on his back and all that, you’re a weirdo, bro,” Joe joked around the 36-minute mark.
“This shit is crazy now,” he went on. “N***as dress straight weird thinking they know. Maybe ’cause Kanye cracked the code back in the day. Don’t think that’s you, n***a.”
