The Game has set the record straight about whether his ex-fiancée, Tiffney Cambridge, was ever friends with Evelyn Lozada — whose daughter shares a one-year-old son with the rapper.
Before Game chimed in, both Lozada and her daughter, Shaniece Hairston, had already addressed the rumor separately and together.
On the Wednesday (December 10) episode of Club Shay Shay, The Game cleared it up himself, saying Cambridge and Lozada weren’t friends at all — just acquaintances.
The Compton rapper and Cambridge share two kids — King Justice Taylor, 18, and Cali Dream Taylor, 15. The former couple also starred on VH1’s Marrying the Game for two seasons, ending in 2014, right around when their engagement fell apart.
Rumors about Cambridge and Lozada being friends started circulating after old photos resurfaced showing Cambridge at Lozada’s 2014 baby shower.
“So, the thing is is my kid’s mom went to Evelyn’s baby shower, but they are not friends,” Game explained. “She just went to the baby shower. If you go to a Taylor Swift concert, it don’t make you and Taylor are friends. You’re just there.”
He added, “So the public fans or whatever, they just got that part, you know, twisted like they’re not they’re not friends.”
Game went on to say that mature women don’t indulge in online drama: “When you’re dealing with grown, mature, and classy women, man, you notice that they don’t really speak much on it or have anything to say negative about it or feed into the internet’s pull of explanation.”
Back in August, Hairston and Lozada also addressed the baby shower photo, shutting down the idea that they betrayed Cambridge when Hairston became pregnant.
“You guys were not ‘best friends,'” Hairston said on the Drop the Lo podcast. “A lot of people were at your baby shower, you guys were on the same network and that was, like, over a decade ago.”
