Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura has officially secured legal counsel as she prepares to face a former escort in court — someone who took part in freak offs with her and Diddy.
Former sex worker Clayton Howard filed a civil lawsuit naming both Ventura and the Bad Boy Entertainment mogul, accusing them of humiliating him, giving him an STD, and alleging that the “Me & U” singer terminated their child.
Howard appeared in the Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, where he described being flown out for multi-day sex parties involving the former couple. He also claimed he witnessed Diddy physically assault Ventura.
When it came to serving Cassie for the lawsuit, Howard was unable to reach her through her physical address or her attorney. A judge later granted permission for “alternative means” of serving her. Had Ventura remained unresponsive, she risked facing a potential $20 million default judgment. In a notice filed Thursday (Dec. 11), attorney Melodie Han of Wigdor LLP confirmed she will now represent Ventura in the case, though she did not address the allegations in Howard’s complaint. The firm’s Douglas Wigdor has also represented Cassie in other Diddy-related cases.
Ventura and Diddy were together for eleven years before splitting in 2018 — five years prior to her suing him for sexual assault, abuse, and sex trafficking. She later testified in Diddy’s racketeering and sex trafficking trial, which ended with him being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The rapper-producer received a 50-month prison sentence in October.
