Blueface Reveals Why He Added More Face Tattoos While Locked Up: “I Ain’t Got No Job Interview”

Keke Palmer couldn’t help but ask Blueface about the fresh face tattoos he picked up behind bars.

The actress popped up on a livestream with the rapper and questioned when he began getting inked while serving his prison sentence. The “Thotiana” artist explained that the tattoos started about eight months into his time inside and that he added them gradually, “one at a time.”

When Palmer wondered if the tattoos were just a way to “pass the time,” Blueface shut that down, saying being heavily tattooed has been a childhood dream of his.

“I always told myself as a kid that I was gonna be one tatted up motherfucker,” he explained. “Being in jail just made me feel like I didn’t have no reason not to do it. Maybe that’s what it was, ‘cause I already had a couple face tats,” he added. “I’m in prison, shit, I ain’t got no job interview.”

Earlier this month, Blueface also spoke with DJ Vlad, who pressed him for more details about the specific face tattoos he picked up. According to the rapper, the ink includes multiple logos — such as MLB, Chase, and the Washington Nationals — along with simpler designs like a paper airplane and poker chips.

During the interview, Blueface shared that another inmate had access to a tattoo gun and would tattoo him inside his cell. However, since prison tattoos are against the rules, he admitted that he ended up receiving a “tattoo write-up” for it.

In August 2024, the 28-year-old was handed a four-year prison sentence stemming from a battery case and a probation violation. He was later released in November after qualifying for parole.

Over the past year, multiple photos and videos circulated showing Blueface behind bars with noticeable new face tattoos. Last November, his mother, Saffold Harvey, responded to a TikTok clip of her son sporting fresh ink across his cheeks and forehead, voicing her frustration over his incarceration and absence from his three children’s lives.

“Your kids are suffering. Javaughn’s confidence has fallen and you play arts and crafts on your face is diabolical,” Saffold wrote on Instagram. “Your half a father wasn’t as sad as you are right now. You better start praying and pull yourself together! You are more than a lame ass jail ninja. You a child of God and father of three.”
