Kai Cenat Speaks on Being Open About His Mental Health: “IDC If People Look at Me as a Joke”

Kai Cenat said he was ready to get “clowned” after tweeting about mental health, coming just a week after he tried to raise awareness in a viral video.

The popular streamer took to X, formerly Twitter, to further address the topic, explaining that he felt the need to “speak up.”

“Im not sad , I’m not depressed but I need to bring awareness to mental health after some of the feedback I’ve been seeing,” the 24-year-old wrote.

He went on to say he wanted to be more open with his fans about “dealing with self doubt and living in fear.”

“As I was very consistent in streaming there were certain times I realized that I was losing touch of reality,” Cenat added in a follow-up tweet. “I needed to take a step back and fully reset I started to realize I wasn’t even spending time with close friends and family behind the scenes as much as I wanted to.”

He went on to add, “I cant imagine the things that people are going through on a deeper level so for those people let me speak up a little LOUDER idc if people look at me as a joke.”

In a video he shared last week, the streamer explained that his mental health struggles mostly stemmed from “self-doubt and fear of going after goals” he wants to accomplish.

While some fans connected with what he was saying, others accused Cenat of not being genuine, arguing that someone with a multimillion-dollar net worth couldn’t really be struggling.

Cenat later continued tweeting about lessons he’s picked up from anime series like Death Note and Naruto, topics he also touched on during the 2025 Streamer Awards.
