Diddy Pushes to Overturn Conviction, Attorneys Say Judge Behaved Like a “13th Juror”

Diddy’s legal team is pushing back hard against his prison sentence, accusing Judge Arun Subramanian of handing down an unfair ruling.

According to TMZ, attorneys for the Bad Boy Entertainment founder are seeking to have his 50-month conviction overturned, just months after Diddy — born Sean Combs — was found guilty on two counts of violating the Mann Act.

If getting the conviction thrown out isn’t an option, his lawyers are asking for a reduced sentence. They argue that the U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York acted like a “13th juror” during the racketeering and sexual assault trial.

Diddy’s lead appellate attorney, Alexandra Shapiro, described Judge Subramanian’s decision as a “draconian ruling,” claiming he factored in violent allegations during sentencing despite Diddy being acquitted of those charges.

Near the end of the trial in June, Diddy told Judge Subramanian he was doing an “excellent job” and ultimately chose not to take the stand.

His lawyers also maintain that Diddy did not arrange travel for sex workers, even though he was convicted of transportation to engage in prostitution. While federal prosecutors have until early 2026 to respond, Diddy is currently serving his sentence at Fort Dix, a federal prison in New Jersey.

While incarcerated, Diddy is reportedly working in the prison’s media library and even organized a special Thanksgiving meal for fellow inmates last month.

As Diddy continues serving his time, fresh allegations involving him surfaced in the 50 Cent–produced Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which premiered earlier this month.

50 Cent kept celebrating the documentary’s success this week with a new Instagram post referencing Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things.

“I know Stranger Things is pissed they spent $500M on a season, only to be beat by Diddy doing stranger things,” Fif wrote.

In the caption, he added, “I been working today I haven’t seen anything what’s going on?”
