It looks like tensions between 50 Cent and the Let’s Rap About It podcast crew are bubbling over.
On Christmas Day, Jim Jones, Dave East, Maino, and Fabolous dropped a “Squatters” freestyle to mark the holiday, but Fab clearly had more on his mind. He aimed directly at 50 Cent, who recently mocked the podcast crew after posting alleged audio of a building owner accusing the hosts of not paying rent — a situation that inspired the freestyle’s title.
In his verse, Fabolous tossed in several references to 50’s past projects and records, including a nod to “Window Shopper” with the line, “Them window shoppers ain’t really gon’ cop nada.”
He also shouted out another 50 Cent hit, rapping, “This blick like a ‘Magic Stick,’ your top voila.”
The line that raised the most eyebrows, however, was, “You know I got Power, your shorty got hot showered,” a bar pointing to the hit TV series executive produced by Fif and his former girlfriend Daphne Joy. Joy later testified against Diddy during his widely publicized trial. She was reportedly in a relationship with Diddy for four years following her split from 50 Cent, with whom she shares a child.
Fab also appeared to reference Diddy’s alleged urination fetish — something 50 Cent has previously mocked — including when he labeled Joy “Pee Pee Mouth” in reaction to an interview Cam’ron conducted with one of Diddy’s alleged male sex workers, The Punisher.
The freestyle wrapped with Fabolous reflecting on the current state of hip-hop, asking, “How is these grown ass men acting childish?”
50 Cent’s holiday beef calendar is clearly packed. The rapper recently shut down Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory after the infamous drug kingpin reached out suggesting they collaborate.
“Work on what He’s an actor, he don’t want to sell dope fool. You watching too much FORCE,” Fif wrote while sharing a screenshot of the DM. “Not a Chance Demetrius.”
