Lil Wayne’s Kids Admit School Was “Tough” Growing Up With Him as Their Dad

Lil Wayne’s kids are opening up about how challenging it was growing up with a famous father.

On a recent episode of her Heir Time podcast, Reginae Carter sat down for an honest conversation with her brothers, Dwayne, Kameron, and Neal. She asked whether having Weezy as their dad made school life and forming friendships harder.

“I would say growing up, my first impression of school was difficult because I would walk around and hear like, ‘Oh, that’s Wayne’s son,’” Kameron shared around the 3:55 mark of the clip. “I was little, so I didn’t really understand it, and I didn’t like it.”

“You didn’t like it? I loved it. I was like, ‘Yes, I am Lil Wayne’s daughter. Yes, everybody get the cameras out,’” Reginae jumped in, cutting her brother off.

“At a young age, I didn’t like it because I wanted to know who would be my real friend,” Kameron explained. “I didn’t care about all the attention. I wanted to actually garner real relationships. That was hard, and I had to learn how to do it. But once I got acclimated and once I got used to it, I found the right people, and it was fine. But it was for sure difficult at the beginning.”

“For you to be so young and have that mindset, that’s great,” Reginae replied.

Dwayne then shared his own experience, saying he attended private school when he was younger and described it as “terrible.” He said he was shocked by how intrusive people with money could be about his life.

“They would all be pressed about me the whole time. And they kept trying to ask me crazy questions. You don’t know how many crazy questions people done asked me. And the funniest part is the people who started to care less was when I went to public school.”

Lil Wayne has four children with four different women. He shares Reginae with Toya Johnson, Dwayne with Sarah Vivian, Kameron with Lauren London, and Neal with Nivea.
