Rihanna’s touching exchange with a fan from 2024 has resurfaced as fans continue to celebrate her genuine and kind nature.
During a Fenty Beauty pop-up event in Shanghai, Rihanna surprised attendees—not just by marking the occasion, but by taking time to personally engage with fans.
In a moment that’s been circulating on Chinese social media platform Rednote and X, Rihanna is seen engaging in a deeply emotional conversation with a fan. The exchange becomes so intense that she eventually asks the fan to turn off the camera so she can keep offering support privately as the woman opens up about her struggles.
The clip begins with a woman seated beside Rihanna, opening up about her life. “You are like a diamond shining in my life,” the woman tells the singer. “My family doesn’t like me. I don’t have friends.”
Rihanna, who jokingly points out that she might have been a therapist if she hadn’t become a global music star, instantly connects with the fan and responds with compassion. “That’s very lonely, that’s very heavy,” the artist says. “That’s more than anybody can endure. Even God made us miserable being alone.”
When the woman shares that she enjoys being by herself, Rihanna gently breaks down what might be behind that feeling. “We sometimes get comfortable with that,” the singer explains. “Because sometimes, we deny ourselves of the things we really want, because we want to feel comfortable and safe.”
As the conversation wraps up, Rihanna makes it clear there’s still much more she wants to say. “So much to share with you, girl,” she says. “We really need to talk, so turn this off. No camera.”

In another resurfaced Rihanna moment, the singer responded to an Instagram post that shared an unflattering photo of her taken from a 2011 V Festival performance. The post suggested that men prefer “candid or imperfect photos” of their partners. Rihanna jumped into the comments, writing, “How I catch this stray tho?”
