A$AP Rocky Hints at New Track “Helicopter” Off Don’t Be Dumb

A$AP Rocky’s Don’t Be Dumb rollout keeps picking up steam with the announcement of a new single titled “Helicopter,” set to drop on Jan. 12.

Rocky shared the news on social media, posting several clips that appear to be pulled from the upcoming music video. One of the snippets shows a helicopter circling inside what looks like a studio space.

The post also reveals the single’s cover art, which features Rocky styled as the cover star of a PlayStation game inspired by Grand Theft Auto.

In the caption, Rocky turned the energy all the way up as he teased the release in all caps.

“DUMBEST VIDEO OF THE FUCCIN YEAR!!! PLAY DUMB GAMES , WIN DUMB PRIZES!!! HELICOPTER THIS MONDAY!!!” he wrote.

“Helicopter” will serve as the newest preview from Rocky’s upcoming album, which is scheduled to arrive on Jan. 16. The rapper previously dropped “Punk Rocky,” a track that lives up to its title and hints that Don’t Be Dumb may span multiple genres.

In the video for that song, which features Winona Ryder, Rocky and his band crank up the volume and perform aggressively, much to the annoyance of their neighbors.

Don’t Be Dumb has been a long time coming, following several major delays that were initially blamed on “leaks and clearance stuff.” At one point, Rocky even joked that the album would never see the light of day—before eventually kicking off the rollout that’s now in full swing.
