Ariana Grande Addresses New Music Buzz: “I’d Need an Extra Brain”

Ariana Grande is clearing things up after her recent red carpet remarks ignited new rumors about when fans could expect fresh music from her.

Per Rolling Stone, the pop superstar and Wicked actor addressed the buzz on Friday, making it clear she isn’t working on a new album right now — and that she never intended to imply one was on the way anytime soon.

The mix-up began after remarks she made in an interview were taken as hints toward a possible release window, quickly sparking online fan speculation.

Grande later hopped on Instagram to clarify the situation, pushing back on how her words were interpreted. “Welp, I never said ‘but soon enough’ or mentioned any months! lol my goooooodness,” she wrote in a comment.

She explained that all she actually said was “no,” joking that people were acting like there was “a clone of me out there somewhere.” She even suggested a “Zoom glitch or something” might be to blame for the confusion.

The mention of a specific month in coverage of her original comments led some fans to speculate that new music could arrive during her upcoming Eternal Sunshine tour, set to launch this summer. Grande shut that theory down immediately, replying in another comment, “Ma’am i would need an extra brain and four more arms.”

For now, Grande’s attention is fully on the tour. Back in November, she described the Eternal Sunshine run as something close to a send-off — at least for the time being.

During a podcast conversation with Amy Poehler, Grande shared her excitement about the shows but suggested they could be few and far between in the future. “I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour,” she said, adding that it may not happen again “for a long, long, long, long, long time.”

That mindset hasn’t shifted. She previously revealed she’s been deep in prep mode, saying she’s been working on the set list “for months now” and will start rehearsals “very soon.”

The Eternal Sunshine tour is set to kick off June 6 with three back-to-back shows in Oakland.
