Eminem and Drake Land on the List of Artists With the Most Weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200

Eminem and Drake keep showing that their impact goes far beyond trends — it’s straight-up historic.

A fresh Billboard breakdown highlighting artists with the most cumulative weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart places both rap heavyweights among the most dominant acts ever. Their presence puts hip-hop in elite company alongside legendary figures like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Michael Jackson.

The update follows Morgan Wallen’s return to the top spot on the Billboard 200 dated January 17, earning his 13th nonconsecutive week at No. 1 with I’m the Problem. That milestone brings Wallen’s career total to 42 weeks at the summit. According to Billboard, only seven acts in the chart’s history have surpassed that number, and just three male solo artists — Elvis Presley, Garth Brooks, and Michael Jackson — have spent more weeks at No. 1 than Wallen.

While Wallen’s continued rise adds another impressive entry to the chart’s history books, Billboard’s refreshed rankings also shine a light on hip-hop’s long-standing chart dominance.

Eminem appears on the list with a total of 35 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He first topped the chart in June 2000, and his most recent run came as recently as July 27, 2024, underscoring the longevity of his reign. His longest stretch at the top was powered by The Marshall Mathers LP, which held No. 1 for eight weeks in 2000.

Billboard notes that Eminem’s total includes his 2005 greatest hits project Curtain Call: The Hits. However, other chart-topping releases tied to him — such as the 8 Mile soundtrack and projects with D12 — are not included in his solo count.

Drake, meanwhile, ranks even higher, with 37 total weeks at No. 1, making him the hip-hop artist with the most weeks atop the Billboard 200. His first chart-topping week dates back to July 3, 2010, while his latest appearance at No. 1 came on March 1, 2025.

His most dominant run remains Views, which ruled the chart for 13 weeks in 2016 — one of the longest album reigns of the modern era. Billboard also highlights that Drake has logged more No. 1 weeks than any other Canadian artist, further cementing his status as one of the most commercially powerful global stars of the past decade and a half.

Drake’s total reflects both his solo albums and collaborative chart-toppers, including joint projects with Future (What a Time to Be Alive), 21 Savage (Her Loss), and PARTYNEXTDOOR ($ome $exy $ongs 4U).
