Viral Social Media Couple The Scotts Split After More Than a Decade Together

The Scotts, the well-known couple behind countless viral social media moments, have officially gone their separate ways.

Kristy Scott filed for divorce from Desmond Scott in Harris County, Texas, on December 30 last year. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, she cited alleged infidelity and said it destroyed any realistic chance of reconciliation. The filing also reportedly noted that the two would soon stop living together as a married couple.

The pair also co-own a wedding videography business called Meant To Be Films, though what happens to the company moving forward is still uncertain.

After reports of the breakup began circulating, Desmond shared an apology on his Instagram Story.

In his statement shared Saturday (Jan. 10), Desmond opened with an apology directed at Kristy, their family, and everyone affected by the public spotlight surrounding the situation.

“I want to begin by apologizing to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation,” he wrote on Saturday (Jan. 10). “I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt it has caused. Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys, as I have always been.”

Later in the message, Desmond acknowledged that he and Kristy experienced difficulties in their relationship, noting that he “faced challenges” and claimed he “made sincere efforts” to work through them.

“Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate, and I had conversations with Kristy regarding this. During this period, I made choices that I am not proud of. I took responsibility for those actions, I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce,” he added. “I ask for privacy and compassion as we navigate this difficult chapter of our lives.

The two first crossed paths at just 14 years old, tied the knot in 2014, share two young sons, Vance and Westin, and went on to build a massive online presence centered on family life, home renovations, and prank-filled content.

Marking their 10th wedding anniversary in the summer of 2024, the couple reflected on their journey in a joint statement to People, saying, “We have been best friends since teenagers and that’s never changed. We focus on genuinely having fun, constantly laughing, keeping things light and spontaneous and finding humor in everyday life. 10 years flew by, we’ve literally grown up together and navigated life together.”

Their final post together, shared in early December, showed Kristy playfully posing as a Labubu, with Desmond standing in the background.
