Aoki Lee Simmons says she’s in no rush to head back to the United States anytime soon.
The 23-year-old posted a string of Instagram Stories on Sunday (Jan. 18), giving followers a peek at her life in Bali and hinting that returning home isn’t really on her mind right now.

The 23-year-old posted a string of Instagram Stories on Sunday (Jan. 18), giving followers a peek at her life in Bali and hinting that returning home isn’t really on her mind right now.
She later shared more peaceful shots from her Bali home, including views of lush greenery from her bed, a glimpse from her shower, and a calm outdoor scene, all topped with the caption, “But I miss you all.”
Aoki, the youngest child of Kimora Lee Simmons, 50, and Russell Simmons, 68, has been spending time in Bali, where her father has lived since 2018 after facing multiple sexual assault allegations in the U.S. In 2024, Russell shut down rumors suggesting he’s unable to freely return to the United States due to the lawsuits.
While Russell’s relationship with daughters Ming and Aoki previously played out publicly, it now appears that things between him and Ming have been improving.
A post shared in December 2024 revealed that he spent the holiday season with Aoki.
“For the last month i have been so blessed to have my brilliant loving and amazing daughter here,” he wrote at the time. “There is no greater gift to a dad then his daughter. I can honestly tell you that this is the best christmas any father could ever have. This year (even more then last year )”
At the start of 2025, Russell posted a clip to his Instagram Story showing Aoki doing yoga. In the caption, he reflected on how he introduced both Aoki and Ming to yogic science when they were growing up.
Back in 2024, a 21-year-old Aoki made headlines after she was spotted kissing 65-year-old restaurateur Vittori Assaf. The brief romance reportedly ended just days later.
“It went from zero to 100 really quick,” Kimora said while discussing the situation on a December 2025 episode of the Not Skinny But Fat podcast. “I was like, ‘Aoki, I didn’t even know this was a thing … I found out when the world found out. So that was what was so shocking.”
She added, “Having gone through—not exactly the same, but similar—that big age-gap relationship, let’s just call it that. I do think it’s predatorial … I didn’t say it in that way because it was this fast, and it blew up to be so much, so then you can’t be the mom that’s like, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ But that definitely was the thing.”
