50 Cent, who’s rarely shy about weighing in on just about any topic via Instagram jokes, pointed to Ye and Nicki Minaj as examples of why he prefers to steer clear of religion and politics.
The comments — which stand in contrast to some of Fif’s Instagram activity in 2025 — were made at the West Hollywood premiere of the upcoming film Moses the Black. 50 Cent serves as a producer on the project, which stars Omar Epps and also features Chukwudi Iwuji and Wiz Khalifa.
While speaking at the event, the G-Unit Film & Television boss called the Yelena Popovic-directed film an “amazing project,” explaining that it was important for him “not to make it about religion” and instead keep the focus on the overall “entertainment” value.
“The subtext is strong,” he added about the film.
From there, he broadened the conversation to touch on religion and politics, calling out Nicki Minaj and the artist formerly known as Kanye West along the way.
“There’s two things they tell you to stay away from,” 50 said to the crowd, in footage shared by reporter Alyssa Brook Lee. “They tell you to stay away from religion and stay away from politics, because no matter what you think, someone passionately disagrees with you. I stay away from those things. That’s how Kanye fucked up. Then, Nicki said some shit. You know, it feels crazy, but it is very accurate.”
