Kim Kardashian is finally addressing the buzz surrounding the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle photo situation.
Back in November, the Kardashian family threw an over-the-top celebration for Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday. The glamorous party drew a long list of A-list guests, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
After the event, several photos from the night made their way onto social media, with Jenner sharing some on her Instagram page.
Fans quickly noticed that images featuring Prince Harry and Markle were later removed, fueling speculation that tension might be brewing between the royal couple and the Kardashian family.
Now, Kim is clearing the air and explaining why the photos were taken down, insisting the situation was blown way out of proportion.
“It was really innocent, which is so crazy,” she said while talking with her sister Khloé Kardashian on an episode of Khloé’s Khloé In Wonder Land podcast.
“Mom and Meghan have been friends for years, and they have a really sweet relationship,” she continued.
Kim explained that she and her mom initially believed it was fine to share photos of the royal couple online.
“We were told that it was totally cool to post. And then after it was posted, I think they realized it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party, even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down,” Kim said.
Remembrance Day, observed on November 11 in the United Kingdom, is meant to honor members of the armed forces who lost their lives in service.
Kim added that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were photographed at another event that same evening—a Baby2Baby gala fundraiser, a nonprofit focused on providing diapers to children in need.
While attending the charity event was considered acceptable, Kim acknowledged that “partying and dancing on the dance floor” at Jenner’s birthday celebration may have crossed a line.
“So we took them down to respect Remembrance Day,” she said.
