Cardi B Cracks Jokes About Saving Her Older Family Members From Facebook AI

Cardi B appears to be reaching her breaking point over AI.

On Wednesday (Feb. 4), the Am I the Drama? rapper took to Twitter to vent about her frustration with the rising technology, especially when it comes to how it’s affecting her older relatives.

“Free my older family members from facebook Ai,” wrote the 33-year-old rapper, offering no further context behind the post.

According to reporting from Parents.com, older adults have long been more susceptible to misinformation, largely due to isolation and limited familiarity with rapidly changing technology, which makes them easy targets. Recent reports indicate that generative artificial intelligence has worsened the issue, with deepfakes, AI-generated videos, and voice-cloning scams becoming harder to spot.

A 2025 University of Michigan study cited in the report found that 92% of adults over 50 want to know whether the content they’re engaging with was created by a human or generated by AI, while 81% expressed interest in learning more about the risks associated with AI.

The outlet also pointed to a Florida incident involving a woman named Sharon Brightwell, who lost $15,000 in July 2025 after scammers used AI to replicate her daughter’s voice. The Federal Communications Commission classifies this method as a “grandparent scam.”

NBC News has also reported that AI-powered misinformation is chipping away at public trust overall, especially as fake images and manipulated videos spread during breaking news situations.

Jeff Hancock, director of the Stanford Social Media Lab, told NBC News that people may begin to “not trust things they see in digital spaces,” while other experts cautioned that ongoing skepticism could result in disengagement rather than better understanding.
