No, Bad Bunny Was Not Wearing a Bulletproof Vest at the Grammys

There’s no evidence that Bad Bunny was wearing a bulletproof vest at the 2026 Grammy Awards, despite the rumors circulating on social media.

Vanity Fair shut down the claim, referencing a Vogue video that shows Benito getting dressed ahead of the ceremony.

In the footage, the Puerto Rican star slips into a custom Schiaparelli look that appears oversized but clearly doesn’t have enough room to conceal a full Kevlar vest.

Speculation that Benito was wearing a vest grew out of the threats he’s reportedly received since being named a performer at Super Bowl LX. He’s dealt with similar situations before, too — last September, reports indicated he faced a credible death threat during a concert in Puerto Rico.

Still, none of the controversy distracted from his historic night. Benito won Album of the Year at the 2026 Grammy Awards, making Debí Tirar Mas Fotos the first Spanish-language album to ever earn the honor.

While accepting the award in Spanish, Benito spoke out against ICE and dedicated the win to those who “leave their home, land, their country, to follow their dreams.”

Bad Bunny also briefly touched on his upcoming halftime show during a recent interview with Apple Music Radio. He avoided sharing “any spoilers” but assured fans the performance would be “enjoyable for everyone.”

“I just want people to have fun,” he said. “There’s gonna be a huge party. It’s gonna be what people always can expect from me. … Of course, a lot of my culture. But really, I don’t wanna give any spoilers. It’s gonna be fun.”
