MrBeast has officially acquired Step, a mobile banking app designed for teenagers, through his company Beast Industries.
The YouTube star announced the news on Monday.
“I’m so excited to share that we are acquiring the financial services app, @step,” he wrote on X.
“Nobody taught me about investing, building credit, or managing money when I was growing up,” he continued. “That’s exactly why we’re joining forces with Step! I want to give millions of young people the financial foundation I never had.”
Step allows kids between ages 13 and 18 to open their first bank accounts and begin building credit. The platform also provides a range of financial services, including the Step Visa card, high-yield savings options, cash-back rewards, early paycheck access, loans, and an investing feature.
Over the years, the company has attracted several high-profile investors, including Stephen Curry, Nas, Charli D’Amelio, Justin Timberlake, Will Smith, The Chainsmokers, and Eli Manning.
“Financial health is fundamental to overall wellbeing, yet too many people lack access to the tools and knowledge they need to build financial security,” Beast Industries CEO Jeff Housenbold said in a statement. “This acquisition positions us to meet our audiences where they are, with practical, technology-driven solutions that can transform their financial futures for the better.”
While the exact amount MrBeast paid for Step hasn’t been disclosed, he appears well-positioned financially. Bloomberg previously reported that Beast Industries was valued at $5.2 billion in 2024.
MrBeast is also pushing further into the financial space. Yahoo Finance reports that the 27-year-old plans to launch a new YouTube channel focused on financial literacy for his massive audience, alongside a new venture, MrBeast Financial, which may offer products like student loans and insurance.
